MPH-900® Helped Find Her In Just Minutes

An Ottawa, KS family experienced the fear of a lifetime recently while searching for a missing elderly family member and her car for about eighteen hours. The Franklin County Sheriff's Offi ce received the missing person's call at 14:00 hours and dispatched every available offi cer to look for her. At 15:45 hours, Master Deputy Carl Bentley was notifi ed of the missing vehicle's license plate number and immediately deployed one of the agency's MPH-900® ALPR systems. Patrolling parking lots of local businesses, the MPH-900® identifi ed the car outside a WalMart at 16:03 hours. The elderly woman was found inside the store unharmed but confused. She was promptly reunited with her family. "Needless to say, having the ELSAG MPH-900® is the reason the elderly woman was located in 18 minutes," said Deputy Bentley. "The MPH-900® is a great system and is a great asset to law enforcement in Franklin County, Kansas.

TOC PLUS™ Now Saving More Time Than Ever

ELSAG's Tactical Operations Center PLUS™ (TOC PLUS™) software makes the force multiplying and safety qualities of the MPH-900® ALPR system even greater. TOC was developed to shorten the time span between an MPH-900® alarm and backup response. It achieves that by automatically alerting Dispatch and TOC-outfi tted patrol units simultaneously of the MPH-900® alarm, saving valuable minutes. The newest enhancement—the PLUS—, now gives agencies the option to segment the alarms by type and send them to pre-determined TOC-outfi tted patrol units. If an offi cer is working a hot homicide or missing persons case, it may be benefi cial for them to immediately receive only those types of alarms.

Did you know that you can search for a plate across 2 crime scenes automatically? From the DATA MINING menu select CROSS SEARCH. Enter the details (date, time, location range, any partial plate info) for the fi rst crime scene, click on STEP 2 and repeat for the second scene. Click on STEP 3 and select DUPLICATES and the system will show you all plates that were in both locations at the corresponding time.
