In April 2008, Finmeccanica completed a full acquisition of Remington ELSAG, which had become the leading manufacturer of advanced Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) systems in the U.S., and its flagship brand, the Mobile Plate Hunter-900® (MPH-900®). Now wholly owned by Finmeccanica, the leading ALPR company is known as ELSAG North America.
